first XPLAY

XPLAY
This is a short report about what I did at my first Xplay, the evening began with jon, mike and I walking from mutley to the voodoo lounge, on the way there we ran into adam who was standing in front of the college trying to find the venue.
Once inside we got are hands stamped with a red square to prove that we were there as part of the design for games group/ groups of that field,  straight after this we bumped into graham who asked us to sign a piece of paper to prove that we had turned up.
After talking to graham for a little bit I headed straight for the bar where we found out about the competition which mike and i entered, during the waiting period before the start of the tournament I went off to explore and bumped into a programmer from a course I had been on previously, the reason I left was because of the course changing which we talked about and he agreed they should have changed the course specs on the website and the trailer as both still show it to be a 3d modelling and animating course.
When I finished talking with I went over and started playing on the N64 with a few members of the computer science students and some of my own class mates, this was a new experience for me as I haven’t used one of these controllers before I was always a sony playstation kind of guy.
During the tournament I did pretty bad getting a score less than 100 but in my defense I had a few drinks beforehand so my reaction times were slowed, was swiftly yelled at by an intoxicated jon who didn’t actually take part in the competition, finally after a few more hours socializing it became late so I went home to finish off some drawing that I had been doing.
